Marisa currently serves as the Director of Talent Management at TIAA. Prior to joining TIAA, Marisa worked as a consultant with Kenexa, an IBM company, where she supported clients in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent. She holds an M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Marisa and her husband are Colorado natives and are thrilled to be home raising their two daughters. Their oldest is a current student at Paddington, and the youngest will be following in her footsteps in a few years.
It is my honor and privilege to serve on the Paddington Board of Trustees. I am a business psychologist and spend my days determining how best to engage, motivate, develop, and retain the employees of a Fortune 100 financial services organization. It was a passion for lifelong learning and leadership development that led me to this professional pursuit and it is a similar passion that fuels my desire to contribute to Paddington Station Preschool.
We know that people of all ages learn best by doing, and for the students of Paddington this means one thing: PLAY! It is amazing to watch children grapple with interpersonal relationships through a game of house, uncover the magic of physics through a toppling tower of blocks, or experience the trials and tribulations of agriculture through their very own garden. More inspiring are the teachers who nurture this learning, encouraging our children to believe in themselves, remain curious, and see the beauty in the world.
As the mom to a current Paddington student with a future student waiting in the wings, I am incredibly proud of the place my husband and I have chosen to make the home for our children’s early childhood education. I am deeply committed to fortifying the Paddington community and safeguarding the school for current and future generations of students and their families.
