There are some new faces in Paddington classrooms in 2010. Five new interns have joined the Tom Kitten, Squirrel Nutkin, Benjamin Bunny, Hunca Munca and Jemima Puddleduck classrooms.
Jennifer Todd, Joy Caruthers, Sarah Fennell, Brittany Stahl and Kara Steele are participating in the Stanley British Primary Teacher Preparation Program. They are working full time in the classroom, alongside their mentor teachers, as they complete their Colorado teaching certification at the University of Colorado at Denver.
In addition to classroom time, these future teachers are completing 225 hours of course work on Thursday afternoons throughout the school year.
Our interns came to us with diverse educational and professional backgrounds including careers in interior architecture, pediatric dentistry, preschool gymnastics, and television programming for PBS Kids Sprout.
They have most recently been in classrooms at Stanley British Primary School and Steele Elementary School.
Paddington is a proud sponsor of the intern program giving interns the opportunity to experience Early Childhood Education in a play-based environment.
Parents are urged to stop by and say hello to the new members of our Paddington family. Welcome everyone and have a great rest of the school year!
