Inclusivity

One of Paddington Station’s goals is to provide a dynamic, integrated curriculum in an engaging, experiential environment that nurtures and builds upon each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning. We strive to ensure Paddington Station is a place for children to learn how to be a part of the community, and to be known, valued and cherished.

We understand that no child is too young to begin to develop an awareness of his or her surroundings and role in the world. Our shared activities are designed to foster this belief in our students and to build community both in the classroom and beyond. We also strive to develop a sense of responsibility in our students with regard to the environment in which they live, as well as a sense of belonging to the communities in which they live.

Most importantly, we support the development of a child’s natural curiosity and we inspire a quest for knowledge that extends outside of the school and allows for independent investigation into all areas of interest.

In keeping with our goal to provide a uniquely rich environment, Paddington Station values and encourages diversity of all kinds — racial, ethnic, linguistic and socioeconomic, as well as children with special needs and challenges. Additionally, our goal is to have all students see their family reflected in the classroom. We believe that every kind of family structure offers a richness to our community. Paddington Station values the diversity of the community and is intentional in our inclusiveness practices in the classroom, boardroom and beyond.
