Carla McConnell
Raised in Los Angeles I majored in landscape architecture at the University of Arizona. Moving to Pittsburgh I worked as a Landscape Architect for the Allegheny County Parks Department. During that period I was privileged to design and supervise the construction of the Courtyard Park in the historic Allegheny County Courthouse.
Moving to New Mexico I attended the University of New Mexico earning a Masters degree in Architecture. In 1981 I moved to Denver working in architectural firms, and eventually for the National Park Service’s Lakewood office for planning, design and construction. Two notable projects were the National Prisoner of War Museum at Andersonville NHS and managing the study leading to the establishment of the Manhattan Project National Historic Park. I am a licensed architect in Colorado, and a certified professional planner.
My husband, Jim Perberg, and I have lived at Lowry since 2004. After retiring, we bought a sailboat and have spent the past seven summers enjoying the New England coast from Long Island Sound to Maine. We also enjoy all the cultural and outdoor amenities Denver and Colorado offer.

Community volunteer work is very important. I have served on the Denver Landmarks Commission and was a Trustee for Historic Denver (along with Georgi Contiuglia). I currently serve on the design review committees for Lowry and Boulevard One and am a board member for Lowry United Neighbors.
Historic preservation has always been of interest to me. Paddington Station is a remarkable facility being both on the National
Register of Historic Places and a Denver Landmark and having a significant addition by David Tryba. Paddington Station is an
outstanding example of how historic structures can serve and enrich communities. I hope to be a resource for the school
when facility issues arise.
