Michele McElreath, Book Keeper

Michele is a Denver native, married to a Michigan native, and has three children and two grandchildren. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Colorado. After 32 years teaching business and marketing at the high school level in Aurora and Cherry Creek School Districts, she switched gears in 2014 and became book keeper at Paddington. Michele enjoys tennis and golf, and keeps thinking she will take up cooking; she would rather actually go to any of the new restaurants in town.

After 32 years teaching high school in the Cherry Creek School District, I was anxiously anticipating a life of retirement. After two months of soul searching and trying to create the perfect “second career,” I was approached by Deb Deverell and asked to apply for the Bookkeeper’s position at Paddington Station.  When offered the job, I enthusiastically accepted.

I found that perfect “second career” working with happy children and passionate educators. Paddington works like a well-oiled machine. Days are busy, but I come to work with a light heart and I leave cheerfully exhausted.

I feel it’s important to stay busy, intellectually challenged and creatively motivated. I get all of that at Paddington. The teachers and staff I work with keep me current with technology and the latest trends in education. The remarkable families I meet keep me connected to our community and the beauty of childhood.
I am blessed.
