Therese Aleinikoff, Admission Director
Therese joined Paddington Station in 2018. She lives in Denver with her husband, and three children. Therese has her Master’s in Social Work and Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduating from law school, Therese worked as an attorney for several years.
I first became a part of the Paddington Station community as a parent. For the past few years, I have watched my daughter grow at Paddington, first in Creative Explorations, then as a Benjamin Bunny, Puddleduck and Peter Rabbit. I saw her become increasingly interested in art, from creating “ice cream art” with shaving cream, glue, and bits of paper to drawing with mud on the playground. I witnessed her develop interpersonal skills as she played shop and dress up with her classmates, and as she learned that friends check in on each other when someone is upset. I was amazed one day when she came home from school and explained to me how caterpillars turn into chrysalises and then become butterflies – something she was able to experience hands on during science class.
Most importantly, my daughter has developed a love of learning that she can carry with her for the rest of her life. In a few short months, she went from crying when I left the classroom to asking every day during holiday break when she could return to school. I found that my daughter is not unique in this regard. Paddington Station instills a love of learning in everyone who walks through our doors – students, parents, faculty and staff. We provide ongoing resources for parents and teachers to learn about child development. We encourage children to leave their comfort zone and learn in their own way, and we are always here to support them. We want our students to leave our school confident and ready to discover all the world has to offer.
Even before I became the Admission Director, I found myself becoming more and more involved at Paddington. I felt at home here, in such an inviting community where someone greets you at the door every day and says goodbye when you leave. This is a place where we help our teachers set up their classrooms and bring snacks to share. I do what I do because I truly believe in the mission of Paddington Station – to be a welcoming and inclusive community that partners with families to celebrate childhood, embrace learning through play, and prepare confident individuals to joyfully explore the wonders of the world. I feel fortunate to be able to share our school and our mission with current, former, and prospective Paddington Station families.
